Access Control for Moose Lodges
The Moose Boxes Access System is an elegant solution to a problem facing most Lodge facilities: How to automatically allow access to active members in good standing while blocking non-members, expired and suspended members.
With the Moose Boxes Access System (MBAS), active Lodge members use their regular Moose membership card or Smarphone app to gain entry to the Lodge assuring that only valid members walk through the doors.
It’s fully automatic eliminating manual door and card checks or the need for a separate access system, cards and database greatly reducing complexity and operating expenses.
In addition, you can temporarily restrict access to any lodge member that might be “misbehaving” resulting in a very effective deterrent to bad manners.
The MBAS is tailored to your Lodge’s specific needs. Each system starts with the brain of the system; the MBAS Controller and Magstripe and QR Code card reader. It may also include an Entry Alert Buzzer, Video Doorbell, Remote Release Button, Electronic Locks and other necessary accessories. Talk to your sales representative about all the options available.

The heart of the Moose Boxes Access System is the MBAS Controller. . .a self contained mini-computer with the smarts and power to offer loads of features including:
- Built-in Clock/Calendar: You never have to manually set the time or date
- Open Hours Management: Set hours of operation and restrict access to members during non-business hours while allowing staff access at all times.
- Member Suspension Mode: Block a suspended member right at the door resulting in a very effective deterrent to bad manners.
- Home members Only Feature: Allow only your Lodge members access to a specific entrance, gate or location – Great for member-only campgrounds, gaming rooms or meeting areas.
- No Computer Necessary: Your PC does not need to be running for the Moose Boxes Access System to function – PC is only needed for reporting and management.
One MBAS Controller is required per door/gate. This reduces the cost for Lodge’s that only require access control for a single entrance while allowing additional controllers to be added at anytime for lodges with more than one door or gate. Ask your sales representative for further details.
Our Card Reader is specially designed for years of trouble-free operation and can be used for indoor or outdoor locations regardless of the weather.

Electric Locks
While many Lodges can often use existing electric locks from their old entry system with their Moose Boxes Access System, new installations will need specific and sometimes specialized locks tailored to their unique door or gate requirements. It may also be beneficial to replace older, worn-out or outdated locks with the latest technology.
Lock types differ greatly and may include electric strikes (mortise, cylindrical, Rim), electromagnetic locks, electric deadbolts and even electric hinges. With years of experience, Moose Boxes can help your Lodge select the proper lock for your specific needs.
Life Safety Components
In addition, certain types of situations require special attention when it comes to adhering to the “Life Safety Code” or NFPA 101. Panic bars, motion detectors and Request to Exit (REX) buttons may have to be incorporated. It’s important to know your local building code requirements too. Talk to your salesperson for more information.
Moose at the Door Video Intercom
Know who’s at your door before “buzzing” them in. For those without a membership card such as delivery, sales or service personnel, our Video Intercom allows staff to see who’s at the door while offering full two-way communication and a remote door release permitting authorized entry.
Options include up to 4 door cameras and 4 monitors allowing monitoring from multiple locations. There’s even a Smartphone option for remote monitoring.

Q. What about support for the new QR Code and Moose Internation Smartphone App?
A. The Moose Boxes Access System includes full support for the new QR Code membership card and Smartphone application issued by Moose International.
Q. Does your system work with more than one door?
A. The Moose Boxes Access System can control entry to multiple doors even in different buildings or, for example, a gate at a campground or activity area. In addition, each door can have different access lists, allowing, for example – bar, cleaning and kitchen staff access to the back door while permitting members access to only the main door
Q. I already have an access system. Can your system use my existing electric locks?
A. Yes. In most cases, our Moose Boxes Access System can utilize existing electric strike or magnetic lock devices that are already installed saving you the additional cost and installation of a new lock.
Q. My card reader would have to be mounted outside. What happens if it rains, snows or gets very hot or cold?
A. Our Magnetic Card Reader is specially designed to work indoors or outdoors in all types of weather including rain, snow and even very hot and cold conditions. Ask your sales representative for more details.
Q. Will your system work with my computer?
A. Yes. In most cases, our software application will run just fine on any system already connected to the Internet that you run LCL.WEB on. Just be sure there is an available USB serial port or ask your sales representative about options if none are available.
